Our Interview with Canvas Rebel Magazine

Meet Alex Ricciardelli: the owner of rcompmedia

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Alex Ricciardelli. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Alex, thanks for joining us today. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.

My biggest risk, walking down the street with gallon of Orange Juice! Ha! Just kidding.

Rewind to a time when being surrounded with your family or friends was a “risk”. I was laid off from my job and it took me years to get that job as a I.T Consultant so I was very discouraged because it was going to be impossible to get another job especially during the pandemic.

I ended up doing what I do best, fixing computers and buying them off the internet then reselling them online and locally. I realized stores would open back up soon and knew it would be a lot harder to survive off of this. I started doing website design for local landscapers and start up companies.

I was barely getting by paying my bills at this point. I ended up calling and emailing bigger companies, looking for a partnership. Finally got a response, 100+ companies later. Wix reached out and wanted to interview me. After realizing my brand was a computer company. They denied me.

They would offer me a second chance, they gave me one month. I sat in my garage everyday, and researched how to rebrand and build a Design Company worthy enough for Wix to accept. After 28 days, I was ready to present. They approved rcompmedia and then I was granted permission into the Wix Marketplace and my life changed forever.

I went from being broke to being able to afford a traveling lifestyle!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

My name is Alex, I grew up in a small state called Connecticut. I started coding, designing and animating when I was 8. I took a long break to play sports and be more social throughout my teen years. I was focused on reverting back to my artist and design habits. I enhanced my skills throughout the past 4 years immensely.

Starting from a strong artist background, I learned how to flow my skills through the Wix platform. While becoming proficient in Graphic Design, using Adobe Photoshop and other software. Later on, I studied Social Media Marketing and how to stand out in front of an audience. Thus, stumbling upon Search Engine Optimization and Google Maps while becoming a multi-disiplined designer and photographer; creating digital art.

This is what my goal was from the start for rcompmedia, meaning, Ricciardelli Complete Media. The A-team of talented designers and marketers. We stand out because we don’t follow the market norm, we create our own trends.

I ventured off into other creative universes, exploring my visions, and creating clothing designs for companies, expanding my love for design and art. I ended up launching Designverse Clothing which is a Lifestyle brand for individuals showing off an edgy and creative side.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?

The most rewarding about being creative is the final product of a logo or website. When the delivery is beyond the expectations of what the client had imagined. Our goal is not only to create what was asked of us but to deliver extraordinary results in marketing and design.

Designing beyond expectations of what the client desires, is what I take pride in and it also makes me happy to know my team thinks the same way!

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

What built a reputation as being the best in design within the Wix Community. I believe we are the best because we over-deliver, we make sure the client is happy and staying up to date with the market in design helps me put into perspective what is currently the modern trends.

A way I’ve built a name for myself in Colorado is my streetwear brand. Doing events and selling clothing on the streets of Denver has helped me diversify my audience for my love of creativity all around the state and I’ve also got my clothing in a smoke shop on broadway!
